This winter has been long with all the snow and ice! I can’t wait till the sunshine days are hear to get on my two wheels and go for a blast.

I do go out when it is cold and when the roads are wet, but it is never as much fun as when it is dry! Also, at this time of year you have to be a bit more careful with the roads, as parts might be dry and then you get a shaded area and the road is still damp. So be careful out there and have fun on your motorbikes!

I thought that this might have been a sales pitch, but they told me it was genuine and you should change your helmet at least every 5-years.

The reason for this is that the outer shell of the crash helmet becomes hard and more likely to crack and the inner cushioning changes it’s protective properties, which is designed to take an impact so that your skull leaves and impression in the material. Over time this material becomes hard so that in the event of an accident it will no longer work properly!

So I decided to renew my helmet straight away and threw my old one away! Please think about doing the same with your old crash helmets for you and your pillions!

I did not renew my motorbike tax in December, as I knew I would not be taking it out during the winter months, but after a few lovely days I am now getting ichy feet and can’t wait to get her out. But I now have to wait until Monday to renew my tax for March!

Net income at Harley Davidson was down by 58% for the last quarter over the same period in 2007, after the company reporting worse than expected results. The last quarter showed net income of $77.8 million (£57.1 million).

Harley cut production in 2008 and is planning to cut production further by around 13% in 2009. Sales in Latin America sales seem to be the worst affected falling by 28% with sales in the USA falling by 19.6%.
